Focusing on the 10 km distance through the historical city centre, the City Run  is a perfect start into the new running year for both ambitious athletes who want to improve their minimum time and hobby sportsmen.

We donate 2 Euro of the registration fee of each participant of 5 km run and the 10 km run to local sport associations.

5 km run:
One-lap-course through the city centre of  Dresden with start and finish in front of the historical town hall of the regional capital.

10 km main run :
Two-lap-course with start and finish in front of the historical town hall of the regional capital.

Minimum age

500 m Bambini Run: up to 7 years
3,3 km Jana Bürgelt Pupils Cup: runners aged 8 years and more
5 km run: runners aged 12 years and more
10 km main run: runners aged 16 years and more

Timekeeping & Rating

At the 5 km run and at the 10 km main run we measure the net time (time difference between passing the start and finish line). For the official ranking we consider the gross time.

Ranking of all age groups and awarding of the respective winners as well as the first, second and third winner in the overall standings. The awarding of the 10 km Road Race State Championchip accords to the regulations of the association.

Bambini run: up to 7 years

10 km main run: state championship  m/f, overall winner m/f, age groups (under-18/under-20/m/f 30 – m/f 80), physicians rating

Prize Money & Course Records

The first three winners (in the overall standings!) of the 10 km main run and the 5 km run will receive prize money:

The winners of the 10 km main run will be rewarded as follows:

  • 1st place men/women: 300 €
  • 2nd place men/women: 200 €
  • 3rd place men/women: 100 €

The winners of the 5 km run will be rewarded as follows:

  • 1st place men/women: voucher of 150 € for Karstadt sports
  • 2nd place men/women: voucher of 100 € for Karstadt sports
  • 3rd place men/women: voucher of 50 € for Karstadt sports

Course records of the 10 km main run:

  • 1994 Claudia Dreher (GER) 32:40 minutes

If a runner breaks the course record of the 10 km main run, he/she will get an extra bonus of 300 €.

All participants will receive a medal directly after the run and a personalized certificate (also available via download) with their rank and personal finish time. Overall winners and age group winners will be awarded onstage in the finish area or in the town hall (see also Timekeeping & Ranking).

Changing facilities:
Adequate changing facilities will be available for all participants in the start and finish area.

Showers will be available at the divers hall (next to the indoor swimming pool) in Freiberger Straße. (Freiberger Platz 1, 01067 Dresden)

Gratis left-luggage office for all participants in the start and finish area.

Terms and conditions of participation for sports events organized by Laufszene Events GmbH

§ 1 General

  1. Organizer of the sports event is Laufszene Events GmbH, Strehlener Str. 14, 01069 Dresden, Tel.: 0351/4174589, Fax: 0351/47960226, E-Mail: info@laufszene-events.com.
  1. With the act of registration the registration fee is to be paid.

§ 2 Registration

  1. Participation requires registration. The registration has to be confirmed by the organizer. The following personal data of the participants will be collected: name and surname, e-mail, address, date of birth, rank, distance, personal finish time, firm or club membership (if existent)
  1. The results (participation, overall rank within the running category, distance, finish time, age group) will be recorded in the list of results.
  1. Deregistration (incl. from the list of results) is possible at any time by sending a notice to the organizer. After registration, in case of non participation, there is no claim to get reimbursement of the registration fee.

§ 3 Rating

In case of identical results (time, ranking, distance) of several participants, the decision is made by lot.

§ 4 Liability

  1. The organizer is liable without limitation for damages to life, body or health caused deliberately or grossly negligent by the organizer unless otherwise provided.
  1. In case of deliberate or gross negligence by non-executive employees, liability for material loss is limited to the predictable damage typical for the contract.
  1. In case of ordinary negligence, the organizer is only liable for material damages that are caused by the culpable breach of contractual primary obligations. Similarly, liability is limited to the predictable damage typical for the contract. 
  1. Broader liability of the organizer beyond the limits stipulated in the numbers 1-3 – irrespective of the legal reason -is excluded. Particularly, the organizer shall not be liable for participants’ belongings and for health risks of the participant in connection to the participation in the race. It is the obligation of the participant to check his/her state of health prior to t he race. A possible unlimited liability according to statutory provisions remains untouched.
  1. The organizer reserves the right to change the scheduled programme or to cancel the event due to Acts of God, for safety considerations, or if required to do so by official orders. In such cases, the organizer shall not be liable to compensate participants for any losses incurred. There is no claim for refund of the registration fee.

§ 5 Disqualification and exclusion from the event

The organizer reserves the right to barr participants from participation if they try to participate without an official registration, disturb the competition, disregard conditions of participation or commit gamesmanship.  Any recourse to courts of law is excluded.

§ 6 Data collection and processing

  1. The personal data (in accordance with §2) submitted on the registration form by each participant will be stored electronically and processed for the purpose of the entrant’s registration and for the proper staging of the event. By registering, the participant consents to the storage of such data for these purposes.
  1. The photos, film footage, and interviews gathered within the framework oft he event for radio, television, print media, internet, books, copies (i.e. film or videocassettes, digital media, etc.) may be distributed and published by the event organizers without any responsibility for reimbursement.
  1. The surname, first name, year of birth, gender, club membership (if existent), race number, and result (ranking and time) of the participant will be printed and/or published for the starter lists and lists of results in all relevant event-related media (printed materials such as programme and list of results, as well as on the internet). 
  1. The participant can object to the storage and processing of his/her peronal data for the event or demand correction as well as cancellation of the stored data at any time. In such a case, participation in the event ends and there is neither claim to awards nor claim to reimbursement of the registration fee. Participants who object to the storage and processing of the data may notify the organizer to this effect by E-Mail (info@laufszene-events.com).
  1. By registering, the participant consents to the receipt of the organizers newsletter. The newsletter is forwarded by E-Mail and contains information on this and further running events.  The partcipant can cancel the newsletter at any time by using the cancellation link in the newsletter. 
  1. The participant shall be entitled to view all recorded personal data free of charge at any time.This information is provided in written form. The request for information has to be addressed to info(at)laufszene-events(dot)com.

§ 7 Refunds, replacement, transfer

  1. The starting place ist not transferable. Starting places must not be exchanged or transferred.
  2. The right to participate is highly individual and non-transferable.
  3. After registration, in case of non- participating or cancelling of the event (see §4 paragraph 5), the registration fee will not be refunded by the organizer.

§ 8 Final note

All awardees undertake to be at the organizers and main sponsors disposal for communicative purposes in connection with their winnings. The personal data collected in the process of registration and participation will be stored and processed accoring to the data privacy statement.
